créatif (French)
Where does "créatif" come from?
The French word 'créatif' traces back to the Proto-Indo-European root meaning 'to grow' or 'become bigger,' which also gave us the Latin word for 'increasing.' In Late Latin, the verb 'creo', meaning to make or produce, was combined with the suffix '-ivus' to form 'creativus.' French eventually inherited or borrowed this term to describe the innate power to bring something new into existence.
