pota (Azerbaijani)
Where does "pota" come from?
The Azerbaijani word 'pota' traces its roots back to the Proto-Turkic term *botu, which originally referred specifically to the young of a camel. Over time, the meaning shifted across various Turkic languages to describe the offspring of other animals, ultimately landing as a term for piglets or bear cubs in modern Azerbaijani.
