بص (Egyptian Arabic)
Where does "بص" come from?
In Egyptian Arabic, the verb meaning 'to look at' is inherited from the Arabic verb 'baṣṣa' (بَصَّ)[1]. The same spelling in standard Arabic is a different word, 'bus', borrowed from English 'bus'[2], so the two should not be confused.
